F is for Fashion Girls
Now let’s be for real when we talk about fashion, and I don't just mean style.
Living in this current state of fast fashion aka throw away clothes, your girl is tired. I don’t want to spend money on clothes that wont last me through the end of the season, let alone after one wear. I have always had an issue spending hundreds of dollars on clothes you can’t do much with because its part of this seasons biggest trend. I would rather put that same money towards something I absolutely love and know I can get years worth of wear with it, and should I fall out of love with it, I can always sell it. I am big on following the girls that also live that kind lifestyle but also look amazing while doing it. Now, please don’t think I am buying up every single piece that they share, but I am checking out the brands Ive never heard of, seeing how they style their favorite pieces, but also how they continue to make it all look so good and effortless. Now, don’t get it confused, these girls also know how to mix up some good highs and lows, because not everything needs to be $1000; its called balance, look it up.
So get into some of MY favorite fashion girls, in no particular order.
Let’s get into my good good gyal, Amanda! Amanda is the literal epitome of fashion, style, “it girl”, and muse. Here is what you need to know about Ms. Murray, she is literally on the mood boards of some of the biggest brands you can think of. She doesnt dress for anyone but herself. She shares so much fashion knowledge as she is a stylist extraordinaire who has inspired and styled some of your favorites. Along with consistent lewks, she updates us on fashion news as well as sharing her vast knowledge of fashion culture in the Black and British community.
What is there not to say about Simi, my fellow cancer sis. A curvy girl who knows how to kill everything she puts together. She has a great range of staple high end pieces that she mixes and matches with brands that you would never think of. What I love most about her style is that everything is always so true to who she is and her style. I think so many of these newer fashion girls don’t wear their closet and add so many pieces that you wonder where and how they keep it all, however with Simi you learn how to properly wear your closet in the most fun ways. Simi is here to keep you on your toes.
Vero is the kind of girl that you see on the train and want to ask her about every item she is wearing. She has such a wide range of brands that she shops from that I am always taking note of who else I need to add to my closet. A great combo of tomboy, hint of feminine wild, but also this random dash of street grunge is how I would best describe her style. Every time I see her do a GRWM, I think I know where she's taking her look, and she adds something that surprises me in the best of ways.
Mrs. Leslie is a model mommy with impeccable taste and the funds to get her the luxury brands that every curvy girl aspires to have. What I love about Leslie’s style is how feminine but also badass she is. I truly believe her French background is what gives her that je ne sais quoi. Giving sultry, soft, girlie, but also funky. Since becoming a mom, while she’s slowed down in posts [as to be expected], she continues to show us how to love on our sexy soft curves.
Let me make something clear about Mrs. Melissa! If she tells you to buy something, do it and QUICKLY! Thats in regards to anything, fashion, skincare, haircare, food, latte’s, the list could go on. Known for being the fashion sensation behind UK rapper Stormzy, she is a force of her own. There needs to be a marketing study on how she continues to sell things out in minutes WORLDWIDE! Melissa always show up as her true self, whether it’s in a full beat face and pin straight hair or fresh out of bed with some days old cornrows. For many of us, she feels like one of our good girlfriends who will always put you on, give you a good laugh and inspire you to enjoy life. But please know, one thing about Melissa, she is a private girl, because how was she showing up on insta everyday and none of us know she was pregnant! Like maam, teach me!
I first came across Telsha’s IG some years ago when she launched her store in New York, T.A., which has now been turned into an online store since her move to LA. When the day comes that I meet her, I want to say thank you to her because she has virtually introduced me to my wedding dress designer. If I could recapture anyones wedding and the beauty of it all, it would be hers. Her individual style is very effortless and chic, so when it comes to her store, you should expect nothing less. I would truly love to see what her getting ready process looks like, and if its just as seamless as her fits.
Maximalist is the first thing I think of when I look at Dallas’ style. There are so many currently trying to pull off what Dallas does with ease. You can always tell when someone is wearing a fit or a fit is wearing them, can you tell where Dallas lands? Growing up in a uniform, its only right that she has stepped out and into her own person and style. Shopping at places like Dover Street Market and Wasteland, we know we’ve got someone who shops to her own beat and doesn’t want to dress or shop like the rest of the girls. We love a person who knows they were always meant to stand out.
I honestly didn’t know what Lena did until writing this post. I was more focused on her Cannes red carpet looks or rather any and all of her red carpet looks. With the top listened to and watched podcast in France, no wonder why all eyes are on her, but then again, he wardrobe also screams “YEA you see me”. With brand deals and promotions left and right, you see the latest collections from houses like, Dior, LV, Schiaparelli, Pucci, and the list just continues. To see some of our favorite pieces and looks on the catwalk brought to life in her everyday attire is truly such a treat.
To put it simply, Whitney is the kind of woman I wish to be when I grow up. When I say this girl just oozes femininity, it a makes me want to do better. She has the grace, poise, and the aura of an old school ballerina that I can truly appreciate as an ex bun head myself. The first video that made me truly fall for her was this high waisted pencil skirt, cropped button up and those Valentino double platform heels. The icing on the cake was a slim velvet ribbon used as a neck tie piece. While she was recreating a Valentino look, the execution was just so drool worthy.
I have seen this woman in person, now while people will give me compliments on my skin, I was literally prepared to wear hers as a second skin for added prolong measure, lol. Eva is not the girl who will tag every article of clothing, so just a heads up. But what she will give you is the perfect combo of street tom boy style, to sexy sultry woman to an around the way model. It’s clear she doesn't take trends too seriously and goes for what feels good and it just so happen to always look really good.
